Suzuki RG400 Gamma by Ludovic Lazareth
Ludovic Lazareth is usually responsible for some of the world’s most extreme custom bikes, those incredible machines you have as wallpaper or you drool at on websites and in magazines. Obviously, his own motorcycle is nothing short of outrageous, and he is proud to call this stunning Suzuki RG400 Gamma his own. The RG400 was rusting away somewhere in the Sbarro factory, along with various other rides, and he just couldn’t let this lightweight and fast mid 1980s two-stroke disappear into oblivion. Sold mostly for Asian fans, the RG400 was around for a limited amount of time – and that also applies for the original looks of the bike. Lazareth went for a new tail unit, matching the refurbished tank, and a mesmerizing cream and black paint-job.
It looks like this Suzuki means business, while the water-cooled engine, fed by four 8mm Mikuni VM28SH flatslide carbs, supports said statement. A new chassis was created, with elegant tubing working alongside a full Yamaha YZF-R1 suspension setup, and modified forks and swingarm to provide the rider with that sublime riding experience. Considering the 17″ Excel rims wrapped around Michelin rubber, Öhlins shock and a full Brembo brake system, Lazareth has spoiled himself a bit. Never mind the four custom-made pipes and expansion chambers, and its awesome soundtrack!
