Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG by Loewenstein
The guys behind Loewenstein have been working on a new project; specifically, major power upgrade program for the pre-facelift Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. Sure, the E63 AMG was launched way back in 2009, but that doesn’t mean it’s worthy of attention. Featuring a naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V8 engine, this beast was the obvious choice, considering that two years later Mercedes-Benz replaced went for a smaller twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 that developed 525 PS (386 kW), or 557 PS (410 kW) with the optional AMG Performance Package.
Now, Loewenstein focused on the turbocharged motor and managed to squeeze 720 PS (530 kW) and 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft) out of it; funny enough, this ride is a lot more powerful even than the Mercedez-Benz E63 AMG S-Model facelift – 585 PS (430 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft). Dubbed “E-LM63-700”, the custom Mercedes is able to enjoy all that power thanks to a reprogrammed ECU, as well as specially developed sports catalyzers and a K&N sports air filter. Custom springs allow for a lower stance, by 25 mm, while the stock wheels were replaced for the garage’s 20-inch alloys wrapped around in Michelin Super Sport rubber. I’m guessing the ground aluminum wrap doesn’t really hurt!
