Dacia 1300 Shooting Brake
Dacia is a Romanian car manufacturer, one that has become known in recent years for the very affordable Logan and Sandero models. Purchased by Renault in 1999, the company has way more history to it than that, with those living in the country before 1989 and the fall of Nicolae Ceausescu remembering driving a Dacia 1300 or 1310.HoweverA Dacia with a neck-twisting design is something unheard of, but the classic 1300 has been virtually resurrected, and it does look pretty neat.
Say what you will, but these older models were anything but stylish or stunning, something that becomes obvious once you get a glimpse of this concept. The classic 1300 has been virtually resurrected, starting off from the car that first rolled off the assembly line back in 1969.
The original shared various components with the Renault 12, but Marius Flitar has imagined an incredible evolution to that rudimentary vehicle. Although the original lines of the headlamps, grille, logo, and hood remain, although the overall exterior design has been brought into the 21-st century.
This beautiful concept should really grab the attention of official Dacia designers and engineers; who knows, maybe this dream might actually come true some day. I was actually wondering a while back why the company refuses to redesign its 2-door vehicle that used to race around Romania in the old days.
Airbags, ABS, power steering, and a completely new engine family would make this car a success. Sadly, Renault has transformed this brand into the cheap offering it has become, without actually investing in its potential. By the looks of things, that would be a sane and very cool idea.
