BMW R100R by Dust Custom Motorcycles
Beer and motorcycles are fine things, although they’re best enjoyed separately – a cold one while the bike is cooling down seems to have a marvelous appeal. Rob Cameron, the man behind Wylam Brewery, knows this well, which is why he decided it was high time for a customized BMW R100R.
This is not uncommon in the USA, for custom bikes to be sponsored by spirits brands. However, this Anglo-German custom was built to celebrate the launch of a new brewery in Newcastle. The BMW R100R by Dust Custom Motorcycles looks old school and benefits from 21-st century tweaks. What could be better than that?
Rob has a passion for beer, but is even more passionate about motorcycles, with a small stable including a BMW HP2 and a custom Web Surfer from Richard ‘Mule’ Pollock. This BMW R100R is Rob’s daily rider with a street tracker vibe, a comfortable riding position, and a slightly aggressive look.
Based on a low mileage 1994 model, the project includes a refreshed engine comprising a pair of 38mm Dell’Orto PHM carburetors through K&N filters, modified 1983 R100 exhaust headers and GP mufflers. Also worth mentioning is the lightened flywheel, 320 mm floating discs hooked to a Brembo RCS 19 radial master cylinder and Dunlop K505 sport touring rubber keeps the BMW planted in the twisties. David Wright was the one to apply that stunning paint finish. You like?
