BMW M4 GTS
The limited edition BMW M4 GTS is a very special piece of Bavarian flavor, meant to replace the current M4 safety car. The German automaker designed this vehicle to keep it all safe during the 2016 DTM season. Don’t get fooled by its looks, ’cause this BMW is different to the outgoing car; it’s been equipped with various track specific accessories, such as a LED light bar, LED flashers, along with “DTM Safety Car” stickers.
Please note the front splitter, rear wing, and 19- / 20-inch alloys, featuring Acid Orange accents and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber. The BMW M4 GTS comes with an Acid Orange roll bar and a fire extinguisher, which meant converting it to a safety car was half-way done. The biggest interior change was the fitting of a radio, allowing the safety car driver to communicate with race officials.
Similar to the standard M4 GTS, the safety car is powered by a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine – with water injection technology. As a result, this BMW benefits from 500 hp and 442 pound of torque, with a seven-speed M Double Clutch gearbox handling all that power. 0 to 62 mph is dealt with in 3.8 seconds while the safety car will max out at 189 mph. Should be fun to drive this around town, just for the hell of it.
