BMW 1-Series M Coupe by OK-Chiptuning
German aftermarket specialists at OK-Chiptuning have developed a power package for the desirable BMW 1-Series M Coupe. I’ve never been a fan of the 1-Series, it seems under-powered and totally unpractical; however, this project has quickly made me curious about what’s hiding underneath that very sleek and beautiful exterior.
The limited edition 1-Series M Coupe remains a dreamy vehicle for many of you, and to see it brought back to life must be an interesting moment. OK-Chiptuning came up with a power-kit for the twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine, which was meant to develop 340 PS (250 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. However, it’s been now upgraded to 451 PS (332 kW) and 714 Nm (527 lb-ft), by installing a custom inter-cooler and downpipes from Wagner Tuning, an Eisenmann exhaust system, as well as a Sachs clutch.
No performance details have been disclosed, but it sounds like this custom ride will do much better than 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.9 seconds. The best of news is that the garage has decided to remove the speed limiter, so that should be a most exiting surprise once you get behind the wheel. Until that happens, please note the Schmidt CC-Line 20-inch alloys, carbon fiber side mirror caps, rear spoiler lip, H&R coilover set along with an M Performance steering wheel, selector level and pedal set. You like? I do!
