2017 Nissan Armada
We end the day with another big vehicle, this time a large and comfortable SUV. Some might remember the Nissan Patrol from the early 1990s, but it’s a long time since then; its newest sibling has been introduced in North America as the 2017 Nissan Armada. Can you see a bit of the Infiniti QX80 there, or is it just me?
Well, truth be told, we are talking about the same large SUV, sans some cosmetic revisions and less luxury trimmings and equipment. The 2017 Armada was naughty enough to borrow the QX80’s 5.6-liter V8 engine, although in this form it only develops 390 hp; it’s been connected to a seven-speed automatic transmission, and comes in both 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive configurations, allowing the SUV to tow as much as 8,500 pounds.
The new Nissan Armada will be delivered in one of three grade levels – SV, SL and Platinum. Standard features include an infotainment system ,with an 8.0-inch color display, heated front seats, 13-speaker Bose audio system, and safety features such as the Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Intervention, Backup Collision Intervention and Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection. We’re still waiting on pricing, but come this summer, this SUV will be rolling on a road near you.
