2017 New York Auto Show – 2018 Audi TT RS
The 2018 Audi TT RS has landed at the New York Auto Show, taking on the likes of Porsche 718 Cayman S and the BMW M2. The latest model in the Audi Sport range aims to be the most powerful TT yet, with the 2.5-liter five-cylinder TFSI developing 400 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. Available exclusively with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and permanent Quattro all-wheel drive, the new Audi TT RS is supposedly capable of doing 0 to 60mph in 3.6 seconds. As you would expect, top speed has been limited to 155 mph (250 km/h); however, Audi will gladly lift the limiter up to 174 mph (280 km/h) if you add the optional Dynamic plus package.
According to Audi, this is the first time that the Quattro all-wheel drive is fully integrated within the Audi drive select system, offering four different drive modes each of which equipped with the magnetic ride suspension which adjusts the firmness of its dampers depending on driving conditions. Set to start off at $64,900, the 2018 Audi TT RS will also be packing eight-piston brake calipers and 370 mm crossed-drilled steel discs at the front as standard – carbon-ceramic brakes fans will have to go for the aforementioned optional Dynamic plus package before enjoying said equipment.
