2017 Geneva Motor Show – Italdesign Zerouno
There’s plenty to talk about when thinking about this year’s Geneva show but, for now, I’m going to focus on the Italdesign Zerouno. This road-going vehicle offers racing thrills to only five lucky people, thanks to its carbon fiber aggressive body – e few extra dollars will get them an optional “Corsa” package, which means track-only fun times.
This means an even more aerodynamic body, with a race-spec rear wing, a central longitudinal fin, as well as a pair of lightweight side mirrors, a titanium muffler, different wheels, and carbon fiber monocoque seat frames. A mid-mounted naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 will be developing 610 hp and 560 Nm of torque – just like the Audi R8 V10 Plus and the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4.
Routing power to both axles is a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox that enables the vehicle to do 0 to 62 mph (100 kph) in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 205 mph (330 kph). Italdesign went on to contact Pirelli and ask them to develop a special version of the P Zero tires for the supercar’s 20″ OZ alloys.
The lightweight wheels hide carbon ceramic brakes powerful enough to stop this beast in its tracks. The interior shows off carbon fiber on the dashboard, door panels, and the central tunnel. An all-digital instrument cluster provides the driver with vital info and complements the overall track-oriented vibe. No clue on purchase costs, but this will definitely cost more than a Prius.
