2017 Geneva Motor Show – Audi RS5 DTM Racer
A proper DTM racer has always driven me crazy, and that’s probably because I was born back in the 1980s, when some of the very iconic and specially-repped racing legends took the world by storm. As such, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed and a bit nostalgic by the Audi RS5 DTM Racer. The DTM version of the road-going performance coupe is set to compete in the popular German touring car series, and was designed to replace last season’s constructors’ championship car.
A 4.0-liter V8 engine has been fitted with a new intake and cooling system, tweaked to develop more than 500 ponies. Furthermore, the ride height has been perfectly adjusted and soft Hankook rubber will be taking care of the handling and adherence. The Audi RS5 DTM also benefits from improved aerodynamics, such as the front splitter, underfloor panels, and rear diffuser. Promising to deliver significantly faster lap times on any circuit, this racing car is set to provide fans with a show. I’d give anything for a lap behind this Audi’s steering wheel!
