2017 Geneva Motor Show – 2018 Lexus LS 500h
This year’s Geneva Motor Show has got everyone excited about hybrids, and the 2018 Lexus LS 500h is one interesting option. Packing a twin-turbo V6 working alongside two electric motors, this vehicle benefits from a total of 354 hp – enough for 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. More interesting, there’s a new 10-speed automatic transmission that makes any road trip comfortable and smooth, not to mention quiet. On the electric side, a fresh lithium-ion battery pack has been developed to be 20% smaller than the outgoing nickel-metal powerpack.
Aesthetically, the hybrid brings minor changes to the table. You might have noticed that bold spindle grille that makes all Lexus models easily recognizable, while a few hybrid badges make sure you understand what this vehicle is all about. On the inside, there are some few minor trim changes, including some new reptile scale-like door panels, but those seem somewhat easy to ignore. There is no word on fuel economy, although everyone was expecting some improvements worth talking about. That kind of details, as well as pricing information, should be revealed in the upcoming months.
