2017 Audi RS3 Sportback
It seems it was only yesterday that Audi revealed the facelifted A3 and S3 range, as well as the RS3 sedan at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Time flies when you’re drooling over cool vehicles, and the Germans decided it was time for something new to get our attention. The 2017 Audi RS3 Sportback is here, showing off subtle styling, equipment, and tech improvements. Powered by a 400 PS (395 hp) and 480Nm (354.0 lb-ft) lightweight, five-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbocharged engine – the same as in the new RS3 Sedan – this vehicle aims to offer some serious thrills.
Mated exclusively to an S-tronic seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and quattro permanent all-wheel, the fresh Audi RS3 Sportback will do 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds and continue to accelerate until reaching an electronically limited speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) – a cool option will allow owners to increases it to 280 km/h (174 mph).
Exterior tweaks are somewhat minor, including new headlights with optional matrix LED operation, a more angular surround for the single-frame grille, reprofiled bumpers with a redesigned front blade and a tweaked rear diffuser. On the inside, owners will find Audi’s Virtual Cockpit set-up, with a special RS screen shifting the tachometer to the center and displaying vital information such as torque, g‑forces and tire pressure.
There’s also an updated infotainment system worth mentioning, as well as a new emergency assist feature that automatically stops the car if required, and cross traffic assist at the rear. Set to make an appearance at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the RS3 Sportback will reach customers by August.
