2016 Paris Motor Show – Opel Ampera-e
The fresh and environmentally friendly Opel Ampera-e arrived at the Paris Motor Show, and with an impressive zero-emission driving range of over 500 km (311 miles), this vehicle has got everyone excited – the BMW i3 should be worried. Sure, road characteristics, weather conditions, load influence and driving style will make real world numbers stand at 380 km (236 miles), thanks to the 60 kWh batteries – still impressive, to say the least.
This seems to be Opel’s way of showing off that electro-mobility is also achievable for a much broader audience. Sure, the Ampera-e is not eco-luxury, or sporty, but it’s well fit to handle urban lifestyle and crowded roads. Offering space for five passengers, Opel’s EV benefits from a 204-hp electric motor, with 360 Nm (266 lb-ft) of torque on tap in an instant. This small Opel will do 0 to 50 km/h (31 mph) in just 3.2 seconds and max out at 150 km/h (93 mph) – more than enough, wouldn’t you say?
