2016 Paris Motor Show – BMW i8 CrossFade Concept

2016 Paris Motor Show - BMW i8 CrossFade Concept

Garage Italia Customs joined forces with the Bavarians to display a unique version of the BMW i3 and BMW i8 models at the Paris Motor Show. The i3 and i8 CrossFade concepts aren’t just for show; a BMW i8 CrossFade will soon be passing you by, as soon as 2017. The CrossFade designs show off a look that gradually evolves between two colors, inspired by the 19th century painting technique Pointillism. The i8 features a Protonic Dark Silver nose and a Protonic Blue rear, while the middle is where Garage Italia Customs went for a magical effect thanks to colorful triangles that make the evolution possible.

It all started with a Protonic Blue i8, but then the painters then added a stenciled film over the body and applied Protonic Dark Silver. The effect on the i3 is similar, while the cabin’s interior shows off Alcantara headliner and door panels with the same aesthetic effect. Obviously, it’s way too early for BMW to say anything about the CrossFade edition;s production numbers or acquisition costs.
