2016 Paris Motor Show – Audi RS3 LMS
Everyone was paying attention as the new RS3 sedan was showing up at Paris, but the more aggressive-looking racing version looks way more exciting to me. The Audi RS3 LMS is the latest edition to Audi Sport’s racing lineup. Based on the new sedan, this vehicle was properly tuned for the track, showing off an aggressive bodywork, dropped stance and some bold wings. As you would expect from a track-oriented project, the Audi RS3 LMS ‘s cockpit was stripped out and fitted with a single PS3 racing bucket, roll cage, safety nets, and rescue hatch – nothing more than the essentials.
The racing model packs a competition-spec 2.0-liter turbo, good for 330 hp and 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds, not to mention a top speed of 150 mph. The extra grip and higher cornering speed will most probably make up for the somewhat low top speed, making this a fast beast around the circuit. Designed to comply with the regulations of the TCR class, Audi Sport will sell you a club sport version of the aforementioned vehicle for 99,000 euros or the full-on TCR-spec model for 129,000. I’m quite sure I can guess which one people will go crazy for.
