2016 New York Motor Show – 2017 Chevy Sonic
I’m not sure about you guys, but I sometimes dream about small hatchbacks or urban vehicles, in general, that looks exciting, thrilling; a car that makes you want to drive around, for no reason. With that in mind, the people at Chevrolet have decided that the latest Camaro’s looks would suit their 2017 Chevy Sonic, and revealed their embodiment of said idea at the 2016 New York Auto Show.
The new Sonic gave up its round headlights, split front grille, and angular side vents, and went for a front look that reminds us of the powerful muscle-car. The taillights have also been updated, along with the rear bumper, while the rest of the vehicle shows off basically the same shapes as before. The same goes for the sedan version, whether we’re taking about the update or remaining design cues.
The Chevy Sonic was designed to attract younger buyers, so here’s hoping said update is enough to get some new potential customers heading Chevy’s way. It’s worth mentioning that the refreshed Sonic comes with no mechanical changes, which means drivers should expect a naturally aspirated 1.8-liter engine and a 1.4-liter turbo, connected to a manual or automatic transmission with six forward gears. I’m curious if this gets the attention the company is hoping for.
