2016 Geneva Motor Show – Porsche Macan by Hamann
You might remember me talking about the Porsche Macan by Hamann a while back; if not, feel free to check it out. Regardless, any project bearing the Hamann logo is interesting, which is why their stand at the Geneva Motor Show 2016 should not have been ignored. The German company showed up with a Porsche Macan, featuring aerodynamic improvements and a slight engine tweak.
The more aggressive Porsche Macan started off as a V6 turbo diesel model, but chip tuning enabled the engine to develop an extra 52 hp and 100 Nm, bringing the total output to 310 hp and 600 Nm of torque. As a result, the Hamann Porsche Macan will do 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, about a half a second faster than Porsche originally intended.
The wide body-kit is what makes this Porsche unique, with Hamann having developed a new front spoiler, a set of fender extensions, side skirts, rear fender extensions, a rear spoiler and a rear apron end panel. As such, the Macan is 12 centimeters wider, catching up to the Cayenne model. Also worth mentioning is the lowering system, which will allow the driver to sit 40 mm closer to the tarmac, a sports rear muffler with active sound and the valve controlled rear muffler, while the overall exterior look comes in Carbon, Black or Chrome. There’s a wide selection of wheels, but Hamann went for the “Anniversary EVO” alloys. The cabin, however, includes the usual perks, such as LED door entry, a floor mat set, foot rest plates and pedal sets. You like it, I know you do!
