2016 Detroit Motor Show – Nissan Titan Warrior Concept
Nissan showed up at Detroit with the Titan Warrior concept – a more aggressive pickup truck, with high performance off-road capabilities. The ride height was increased by 3 inches and a set of 37-inch off-road tires was fitted onto dark-matte machined aluminum wheels. There’s also a long-travel suspension, which meant that the width had to be extended by 3 inches on each side. Doesn’t sound like much, does it?
That awesome paint-job you’ve been mesmerized by is a custom matte gunmetal shade called ‘Thunder’, with orange and black details. The exterior shape of the Titan Warrior shows off a tough overall look, as if the vehicle wears a protective armor. The grille and LED headlights were enhanced, while the front and rear fenders are now flared, adding to the proportions and menacing attitude of the Nissan concept.
LED off-road lights were mounted on the roof, while functional hood vents were installed for improved engine cooling. Speaking of which, the 5.0-liter V8 Cummins turbo diesel under the hood was connected to a six-speed heavy-duty Aisin automatic gearbox. The modified Titan XD is a design study for now, with Nissan only showing off what might by – but never will. It’s well worth noting the amount of research and development went into adding an extraordinary suspension system onto this truck, to make it truly off-road worthy. Here’s hoping all of this becomes reality as soon as possible!
