2016 Detroit Motor Show – 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS & 2016 Chevrolet Camaro RS
It was no surprise to see Chevy at the Detroit Motor Show 2016, especially since we were all looking forward to their revised and updated 2016 Camaro models – the SS and RS. We’ll just focus on the redesigned 2016 Camaro SS, for now. The car remains a desirable modern-day muscle-car, mostly due to its 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated LT1 V8 engine that delivers 455 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque.
The overall menacing aesthetics aren’t half-bad either, especially complemented by a worthy suspension setup. The Camaro SS includes Chevy’s innovative Magnetic Ride Control system, with active suspension, which should definitely make any drive enjoyable. Stopping power is provided by Brembo and their 13.6-inch (345 mm) front rotors, with four-piston fixed calipers and 13.3-inch (338 mm) rear rotors, with four-piston fixed calipers.
It’s fast, it’s loud, and looks almost evil. But does it deliver that American vibe we all dream about, or remember from the golden days of muscle-car madness? You’ll have to find that out by yourselves.
