If you’re planning on purchasing a large German SUV, you should consider a more than decent budget. Even more expensive might be this cool-looking 2015 Volkswagen Touareg by JE Design, but that’s beside the point; what’s really relevant is the answer to this question: is it worth it? The original vehicle wasn’t meant to act like a sports car, and handled its duties properly. However, more power can never hurt.

The tuning package develop by the people at JE Design improves upon the 2015 Touareg V8 TDI engine’s standard output of 340 hp and 800 Nm (591 lb-ft) of torque. As such, the engine now develops 410 hp and 930 Nm (687 lb-ft) of torque, and all of that extra grunt comes with a €2,400 price-tag. Not bad, right? With a two-year warranty on the side, covering the eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox as well, this sounds better by the second. The performance figures have been slightly altered, with the Volkswagen Touareg now doing 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds

The 2015 Touareg R-Line’s body-kit has been modified into an aero-kit, comprised of new grilles, bumpers, skirts and spoilers, and matched by a pretty decent cost: €4,760. You might have noticed the modified ride height, with the SUV now riding closer to the pavement on 22-inch alloys and an electronic lowering module. The cabin benefits from slight upgrades, such as new mats, white piping and door sills. I kind of like what they did to the Touareg, but it won’t be the most discreet vehicle in the parking lot, that’s for sure.
