1995 Porsche 911 GT2 Evo
The 1995 Porsche 911 GT2 Evo is the kind of car you get a glimpse of, and you just go into ‘wow’ mode: staring endlessly, while saying ‘wow’ from time to time, as you drool over your shoes and dream about driving it. One of just 11 Porsche 911 GT2 Evo racing cars ever built was auctioned off at Mecum’s Monterey sale earlier this year, and this is it.
The 1995 model was based on the GT2 vehicle, with the German manufacturer going further than the extreme. The GT2 Evo was designed to compete in the leading GT1 racing category, which is why it came with a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter six-cylinder capable of developing 600 hp.
The 1995 Porsche 911 GT2 Evo is a rare breed, with this collector’s item being one of those incredible vehicles you don’t know what to do with: put it in a climate-controlled environment for safe keeping, as you polish its every single body line or give it all she’s got at the race track?
Despite being 20 years old, this Porsche would still deliver some serious thrills to anyone rich enough and daring enough to drive it. With only 7,000 km (4,350 miles) on the odometer, the track-oriented vehicle will have made someone really happy. That engine’s sound must be hypnotizing!
